Tutoring

Youth are who are educationally behind are provided tutoring services to help them improve their grades, youth who are suspended from school or youth who are under juvenile court supervision and in the local county jail to help them to continue earning credits to graduate.

Youth are admitted to the program by a Probation Officer or the Court/School Liaison.  The program utilizes the services of various certified teachers to provide individual tutoring services to improve academic performance in core subjects such as reading, math, history and science.  The program is provided year-round so that youth who are placed on summer instruction can also receive services.  Youth meet with his/her tutor 1 – 2 days each week and remain in the program until they show improvement in their grades and/or have earned the necessary credits to graduate.
